Concha y Toro 2003 Xplorador Cabernet Sauvignon (Central Valley)

Best Buy

Incredibly saturated and lively for such an affordable Cabernet, with ripe aromas of leather, dried herbs and a hint of pickle barrel. It whets the whistle with currant and berry flavors accented by spice and licorice. Xplorador Cab is almost always a solid buy, maybe more so in 2003 than usual. Think of it as the poster child for value reds from Chile. Michael Schachner
