Concha y Toro 2017 Serie Riberas Gran Reserva Ribera del Cachapoal Carmenère (Peumo)

Grassy, green aromas are a big part of the nose, which also includes black fruits. This Carmenère feels grabby and tannic, and thus tight. Grass, alfalfa and black plum flavors finish with a wave of spicy oak. If you know the variety in its Chilean form, this should be familiar. Michael Schachner
