The nosing passes find buttery, oily notes with aromas of beeswax, marzipan, burnt toast, honey, bacon fat, bacon rind, sulfur and caramel emerging after aeration time. Entry is big, pruny, Danish pastry-like and bittersweet; the midpalate stage is engagingly toasted, with notes of dried fruit, fruitcake, honey and smoke. Ends clean and intensely bittersweet and pruny. P.P.
