Conte Guicciardini 2017 Castello di Poppiano Riserva (Chianti Colli Fiorentini)

Ripe black-skinned berries, scorched earth and leather form the nose on this blend of 85% Sangiovese with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Firmly structured, the evolved palate shows the heat of the scorching vintage, presenting dried cherry and dark spice alongside dusty, drying tannins. Drink sooner rather than later to capture the remaining fruit. Kerin O’Keefe
