Continental Divide 2017 Petit Verdot (Grand Valley)

Aromas of leather, new books and saw dust are struck against a quiet note of muddled blackberry on the nose. The palate offers more fruit, showing blueberry and black plum alongside dried tobacco and reams of paper. A graphite note is tied to the acidity that balances the moderate, powdery tannins. Pencil shavings and black currants linger on the finish. Fiona Adams
