Contucci 2015 Pietra Rossa (Vino Nobile di Montepulciano)

Cellar Selection

Smooth and delicious, this fragrant red opens with aromas suggesting mature plum, pipe tobacco, blue wildflowers and sunbaked earth that mingle with leather and a whiff of game. The palate is velvety but also boasts tension, delivering ripe black cherry, crushed raspberry, star anise and wild sage set against taut, polished tannins. Fresh acidity keeps it tangy and bright. Drink 2022–2032. Kerin O’Keefe
