Coquelicot 2012 Estate Sauvignon Blanc (Santa Ynez Valley)

A quirky blend of aromas arise off of this wine, from yellow melon and honeydew to toasted pound cake and a tiny bit of reductive skunkiness. It's also interesting once sipped, with yellow cupcake, crushed Italian herbs and kiwi-driven acidity that morphs into an almost-buttery finish. Matt Kettmann
