Core Winery 2007 Ground Around Red (Santa Barbara County)

Blueberry liqueur and cigar box aromas greet the nose on this blend of Tempranillo, Syrah and Grenache, which spent 42 months in barrel and one year in bottle. There are oaky tannins and a decent acidity that lingers long, surrounded by dark purple fruits, toasted coconut and a touch of vanilla. Matt Kettmann
