Cória 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon (Applegate Valley)

A single-vineyard effort, this shows plenty of Bourbon tea and tobacco highlights right away, along with tasty cherry fruit that is already leaning into secondary flavors with an autumnal cast. Like its companion Merlot, it's drinking smooth and tasty, with lots of vanilla and tea and tobacco front and center. These are wines to open and drink over the next couple of years as the chances of further improvement are unpredictable. Paul Gregutt
