Costa di Bussia 2011 Bussia Riserva (Barolo)

Scorched earth, underbrush, dark spice and grilled sage aromas are front and center along with a balsamic note. The firm palate reflects the heat of the vintage, showing dried cherry, clove and a hint of licorice alongside assertive, close-grained tannins that grip the finish. Give the tannins a few years to unwind then drink to catch the remaining fruit. Kerin O’Keefe
