Coto de Hayas 2017 Roble Tempranillo-Cabernet Sauvignon (Campo de Borja)

Stemmy aromas are herbaceous and covered by forced clove scents. A chunky but hollow palate is neither here nor there, while this tastes strangely of wood smoke and clove but barely any fruit. A minty finish with more clove-driven oak character fails to help out this blend of 85% Tempranillo with Cabernet Sauvignon. Michael Schachner
