Cottesbrook 2017 Gewürztraminer (Canterbury)

Medium gold in hue, this wine, from the always recognizable Gewürztraminer variety, is a heady combo of rose petals, honey, sun-drenched orchard fruit and a myriad spices. The palate is opulent and waxy-textured. It's spicy and dry but honeyed. There's a much needed lift of acidity but also a bitterness on both the nose and palate that's a little hard to ignore.
