Cottesbrook 2019 Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc (Marlborough)

This pale gold bubbly smells of lychee, pineapple, melon rind and honey. It's softly fizzy, though the bubbles dissipate quickly. It's drier than the nose suggests but has just enough sweetness to give it a syrupy texture. The acidity seems a little forced, and there's a synthetic feel to the finish, but this is overall a straightforward, refreshing drop. Christina Pickard
