Mostly Merlot at 80%, along with 11% Petit Verdot and 9% Cabernet Franc. Aromas of cocoa, anise, ripe black raspberry and dark chocolate are followed by soft, full-bodied fruit flavors that break up in the middle before coming back together. Somewhat gritty tannins back it up, softening as it opens. The warmth of the vintage shows, but it still brings appeal. Sean P. Sullivan
