Craggy Range 2000 Seven Poplars Vineyard Chardonnay (Hawke's Bay)

A moderately disappointing effort from winemaker Steve Smith, MW. It starts off with promise, with buttery, toasty, reserve-style aromas, then picks up pear and tropical fruit notes. So far, so good. But it doesn't have the depth to rate any higher. Joe Czerwinski
