Craven 2019 Karibib Vineyard Chenin Blanc (Stellenbosch)

Light gold in color, this smells slightly rich and concentrated yet simultaneously focused and pure right off the bat. Waves of fresh honeycomb, rooibos tea, baked apple, clove-spiked orange and spiced pear dance in the bouquet, while the medium-weight palate offers a distinct umami sensation of mushroom tea and salted sweet-cream butter. There's a beautiful texture on the palate, with a saline overtone to the ample acidity and delicate tannins that lend support to the body and length to the finish. Lauren Buzzeo
