Cristom 2002 Reserve Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

Cristom's reserve is a blend of 11 different vineyards, and makes a strong case for this approach over the single vineyard mania that has gripped Oregon for years. This is a big, concentrated wine, still hard and tight, with raspberry/blackberry fruit focused and lifted by tart acids. Just a light touch of oak balances it out. Paul Gregutt
