Crocker & Starr 2003 Stone Place Red (Napa Valley)

Showing an earthiness to the cherries, plums and black currants, with a rich array of fresh thyme and sage, this wine, mainly Cabernet, is young and closed now, with solid tannins. But it's polished and elegant and balanced, and the fruit is there for modest aging. Best 2007–2012.
