Crous Saint Martin 2018 Les Goupilles Red (Cairanne)

Lavish notes of smoke and toasted vanilla bean introduce this heady blend of equal parts Grenache, Syrah, Carignan and Mourvèdre. Matured only partly in oak, it presents a bold, densely concentrated core of fresh blackberry and plum-preserve flavors. Full bodied and limned by softly textured but spicy tannins, the wine should drink at peak through 2025 but hold longer still. Anna Lee C. Iijima
