Cuda Ridge 2018 Carmenère (Livermore Valley)

This unusually spicy wine overflows with black- and white-pepper, clove and cedar flavors on a full body with moderate tannins that keep the texture grippy. A core of darkest blackberry and a hint of espresso emerge on the palate and linger on the finish. Winemaker Larry Dino believes it's the first commercial release of a Carmenère from Livermore Valley. Jim Gordon
