95pointsCullen 2014 Diana Madeline Red (Margaret River)

Cellar Selection

Beautiful, complex, age-worthy and everything you'd hope for in a premium red wine, this vintage from acclaimed Margaret River producer, Cullen, is singing. Let it transport you to a forest in autumn: drying wild currants still on the bush, crushed rose petals, damp earth, eucalyptus and bay leaf, olive brine and the charred remnants of a campfire. This is broody and earthy—the tannins are long, savory and sinewy, stitching together all those forest flavors. Still in its youth, this could be drunk now with decanting but will radiate after time in the cellar. Drink until 2038. Christina Pickard
