Herbal and earthy, with aromas of pepper and barbecue sauce. The plum and strawberry fruit is tight and dry, while the overall impression is of a sharp, lean red that's a bit hot and sour. This Sangiovese has little in common with the wines of Tuscany, and in this case that's not a good thing.
