Daedalus 2006 Elton Vineyard Grüner Veltliner (Willamette Valley)

This is a solid effort, with good varietal character and definition. Half was fermented in stainless, half in neutral barrel, and the wine was given extended (130 days) lees contact. The herbal, peppery tang of the grape is clearly there, with intriguing hints of slate laced through the finish. This would be dynamite with sushi. Paul Gregutt
