Tasted just at its official release, this very young Syrah was not in full form. The barrel scents and flavors were not integrated, and the fruit was standard red wine fare. The rather high (15%) alcohol brings neither ripeness nor depth, and the roasted coffee flavors from the barrels quickly take over the finish.
