D'Angelo 2016 Aglianico del Vulture

Editors' Choice

A coiled intensity of rose petal, pink peppercorn and rosemary carry the nose and echo on the medium-bodied palate, with a properly deep core of ripe forest berries giving way. Firm yet polished tannins and bright acidity create a solid structure for the whole, making this entirely enjoyable in the near term but able to linger in the cellar. Drink now–2025. Alexander Peartree
