Daou 2018 Mayote Red (Adelaida District)

Relatively subtle aromas of currant, violet and roasted meats make for a nicely focused nose on this blend of 46% Syrah, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 17% Petit Verdot. The palate picks up the roasted coffee kick, leading into blueberry-compote, lilac and charcuterie elements, wrapped in smooth but firm tannins. Matt Kettmann
