The Coppermine Cab comes from low yielding, old vines of a clone almost extinct down under. Despite the cooler vintage, this wine is as massive as ever. It opens with notes of black cherry, black currant, cinnamon, licorice and mint. On the palate, outsized tannins are dry and raspy, flecked with herbs and spices. Luckily there's a good amount of juicy fruit but it's fighting to be seen. Christina Pickard
