A deep crimson color, this has all the plush, dense, thicket-of-fruit aromas typical to McLaren Vale Cabernet. There's blackcurrant, dark cherry, a little dried mint and a sweet, toasty oak note. The palate is powerful with quite elevated鈥攕omewhat forced鈥攁cidity and powerful, sappy tannins that require a hefty amount of protein. This could cellar until around 2030, softening those tannins and adding more intriguing secondary flavors. Christina Pickard
