Dartigalongue 1964/40 Year Old Bas Armagnac “Celebration Collection”

The aroma begins woody and marshmallow-like; after air contact toasty notes of burnt apple crisp, lanolin, candle wax and coffee bean appear. The palate entry is sweet like dried fruit or black raisins; at midpalate the taste profile turns deeply oily/resiny, with seductive hints of rancio and soft blue cheese. Ends sweet, viscous, raisiny and honey-like. A stately beauty. P.P.
