Dauvergne & Ranvier 2017 Grand Vin (Gigondas)

In this wine, profoundly ripe, almost ruddy, flavors of preserved plum and cherry are shaded by hints of beet root and cherry-cola spice. A bold, brooding blend of Grenache (80%), Syrah (15%) and Mourvèdre (5%) framed by ripe but chewy, persistent tannins, it should meld and improve through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
