David Hill 2018 Estate Pinot Blanc (Willamette Valley)

Stone fruits, notably apricot, occupy the central palate here, and the flavors spread out broadly with a saline undertone. Two-thirds were fermented in stainless steel, and one-third in a terra-cotta cigar amphora. That oxidative vessel seems to have dulled the brightness of the fruit somewhat, but on balance this will drink nicely a bit sooner. Enjoy now–2022. Paul Gregutt
