David Hill 2019 Whole Cluster Pinot Noir (Tualatin Hills)

Editors' Choice

This bears the new label design for the winery's rare and special bottles. The winery is at the northwest corner of the Willamette Valley, nestled against the Coast Range, and part of the newly designated Tualatin Hills AVA. Lightness and elegance are the hallmarks of the AVA, and they are especially well-suited to the Pinot Noir grape, as shown here. Pretty strawberry fruit is backed with light baking spices and a bit of tannic muscle. The overall complexity is impressive. Paul Gregutt
