Day 2016 Johan Vineyards Pinot Noir (Willamette Valley)

This biodynamic vineyard is in the newly minted Van Duzer Corridor AVA. The wine is fermented with wild yeasts and aged 22 months in 15% new oak. It's a fragrant, compact, compelling wine, with scents of clover, forest floor and raspberry. The berry and cherry fruit flavors continue into dusty tannins, and the wine has both grip and persistence. Paul Gregutt
