After a bit of time to open in glass, this reveals notes of sour cherry, ground nutmeg, graphite and iron. The medium-weight palate is fresh and restrained, but harnesses the natural power of Shiraz, with neatly wound, textural tannins. Oak spice shows but not obtrusively. It's a modern bottling at an affordable price. Christina Pickard
