De Loach 2007 Hawk Hill Chardonnay (Russian River Valley)

The yeasty aroma and taste of lees and the sweet caramel of new oak dominate this single-vineyard Chardonnay, making it a little heavy. Yet it has enormous flavors of pineapples, green apples and Asian pears. Seems young and unintegrated, but could knit together and gain bottle complexity by mid-2010.
