De Martino 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon (Maipo Valley)

A lot of Chilean Cabernets seem to have a distinct weediness to them; this is a perfect example of the style, boasting green hay and herb aromas over subdued—almost stewed—cassis fruit. Some tart acidity keeps things lively on the finish. Joe Czerwinski
