Perhaps it's simply too young, but this latest Pinot Gris from Deer Creek does not show the complexity of recent vintages. It's loaded with fresh apple-juice snap and flavor and a squeeze of lemon. Clean and fruit-centric, there's nothing at all wrong with it, and it's a fine thirst-quencher for a hot summer afternoon.
