Delaire Graff 2017 Cape Winemakers Guild Banghoek Cabernet Sauvignon-Cabernet Franc (Banghoek)

Winemaker: Morné Vrey. This is bold and earthy from the start, with pronounced aromas of turned earth, black plum, cigar tobacco, leather and licorice root. It's similarly big and brawny on the palate, with a firm, supportive structure to the earthy elements and black cherry and plum-skin flavors. Ample acidity showcases the overall balance, while the finish still showcases its oak-aging influence. Give this more time to show its best self; drink after 2026. Lauren Buzzeo
