This is a stereotype-busting Aussie red that, despite being from a hot, dry climate, exudes all the freshness and varietal charm you could hope for. Lively cherry, rhubarb and violet aromas are underscored by a tangerine-rind and medicinal herb nuance. The palate is medium weight and fresh, with tart fruit, bony dry, quite medicinal tannins and a feeling of nourishment. Drink young and slightly chilled. Christina Pickard
