California's take on this grape can be more showy than is done in its Spanish homeland, and this is a good example. A strongly perfumed nose of white flowers, yellow rose and pineapple is quite intriguing. The palate is more standard fare: pear, apple, green banana and citrus pith, trending toward bitterness and tartness more than ripe fruit.
