Des Ribauds XO Coeur du Temps Fine Champagne Cognac

The early whiffs find spicy/peppery notes that are semi-dry and alluring; later sniffings pick up deeper scents of toffee, citrus rind and hazelnuts. Palate entry starts semisweet then immediately turns bittersweet and resiny; midpalate the flavor profile focuses almost entirely on the oak, leaving the fruit way behind. An ethereal, sinewy Cognac with no fat on it. P.P.
