Deutz 1996 Brut Rosé (Champagne)

Pale, with just the slightest color of copper, but you can smell the raspberries peering through the yeast and white chocolate in this young wine. It's fine and crisp, with an elegant lightness, but with upfront tannins and acids that cry out for cellaring. Best after 2006.
