Very meaty in the nose, with an uncanny similarity to bacon. This wine is on the fat, soft side of the fence, and it doesn't have a lot of persistence or drive. But it does offer rich black fruit, ample oak and some satisfying big-bodied flavor. A little more balance would help it along. Michael Schachner
