Diamondback 2014 Chardonnay (Rogue Valley)

This wine seems to be moving past its prime at almost five years of age. It's smooth, but the fruit has a dullness beginning to show. Flavors mix apple pie and peach cobbler, with the pastry notes attributable to barrel fermentation, full malolactic and 18 months sur lie in 80% new French oak. Drink up. Paul Gregutt
