The blend is 60% Cabernet Franc, 15% Pinot Noir, 15% Gamay Noir and 10% Malbec (or Côt, as it's known in the Loire). Tannic and tight, the low alcohol is the tip-off to lightly ripened red fruits—rhubarb and salmonberry. Astringent green tea flavors dominate as the tannins take hold in the finish. Paul Gregutt
