Dom Brial 1979 Grande Réserve Ambré White (Rivesaltes)

Abundant, assertive aromas of coffee cake, caramel sauce, browned sugar, baked Alaska, dried apricot and a touch of earthy funk form the nose of this mature selection. The palate is smooth and toasty, with lots of earthy spice, mushroom and umami characteristics that carry through to the lingering, slightly salty and savory finish. It's hard to resist now, but it still has plenty of time ahead of it. Lauren Buzzeo
