Domaine Barmès-Buecher 2019 Pfersigberg Grand Cru Gewurztraminer (Alsace)

Each whiff of this wine reveals something different. First, it's sticky pineapple candy, then woodsmoke, then reeds. Flavors are far more subdued, with lychee and charred oak battling it out, and just a hint of Brettanomyces creeping in. There's a lot going on in this wine, so it needs some time in the glass to settle down. Layla Schlack
