Domaine Bott-Geyl 2011 Furstentum Grand Cru Pinot Gris (Alsace)

A spirited headiness on the nose carries the ripest richest pear notes. The palate amplifies these with a wonderfully high-toned sweetness which is countered by a very concentrated, almost sharp freshness that pervades and refines. The body is rich but compact, packed with richness. The finish is almost cutting, with zestiness but the medium sweetness lasts and lingers. Drink 2028–2030. Anne Krebiehl MW
