Domaine Bott-Geyl 2015 Mandelberg Vendanges Tardives Grand Cru Riesling (Alsace)

Smoky apple, lifted notes of dried yarrow and hayflowers, and flinty, dried lemon peel on the nose create allure. The palate of this wine comes in with sweet, juicy pear and peach, but counters that immediately with freshness that makes every nuance of citrus, fruit, smoke and stone shimmer. This wine is precise, concentrated and harmonious, delivering a mild sweetness where freshness trumps. Anne Krebiehl MW
