Domaine Bott-Geyl 2015 Schlossberg Grand Cru Riesling (Alsace)

A lovely scented aspect of crushed citrus foliage flits by the nose before ripe pear notes take over. These also dominate the palate but are tempered by a lovely, pleasantly bitter edge that is reminiscent both of fir honey and citrus pith. Something underneath is fine and almost crystalline. Lemon freshness gives precision to the pear notes and brings the wine to a very balanced, just off-dry finish. Anne Krebiehl MW
